Green Velvet Evening Gown

Awards season is ramping up and the Oscars are right around the corner! I admit, I loooove ogling the designer duds and couture gowns as celebrities parade about on the red carpet.

To satiate my unhealthy obsession with award show season fashion, I created a red carpet inspired look that can function for those of us who enjoy a night out at the club, or a fancy dinner at the Metropolitan Club in the Willis Tower.

Hence, this green velvet, plunging v-neck dress came into existence.

And it plunges. And it flows. And it ruches. And it clings in all the right places. And I adore it!

This emerald green fabric is right on trend for the winter season and pairs perfectly with a dark, bold wine colored lip stain and a smokey eye. Strappy black heels and blunt bangs complete this look, to give off the ultimate edgy rockstar meets glamour vibe.

Rock this look when you want to feel like a bad-ass Bond girl. And seriously, who doesn’t want to feel like a gun-slinging, ass-kicking, sizzling hot hero?!

I am aware that the Bond girl usually dies, but why don’t we just turn the tables for a moment. “The name’s Bond. Jane Bond” Yes, that has a nice ring to it.

Someone sign me up for a book deal and don’t bother me for the next 5 years because I’ll be writing a series about Jane Bond. Assuming that’s how long it takes to write a book series. No idea. Moving on…

Well, I’m off to find a formal affair to attend in Chicago, if anyone would be so kind as to invite me to a not-for-profit puppy benefit, I’ll be on my merry way.

Thanks for reading, my fashionable friends! Please feel free to share your thoughts and comments below.
